We’ve Been Counted! – TiViTz Tuesdays at Caspers Company McDonald’s Locations

At Million Women Mentors, we understand the importance of aggregating and amplifying the mentoring that is going on already throughout the country, and we continue to do that through the Be Counted! Campaign. This month we worked with Steve Scully of TiViTz and Robert Conigliaro of Caspers Company McDonald’s, which has locations in the Tampa, FL area. In 2015 45 mentors participated, mentoring 996 girls in math skills and strategy as part of TiViTz Tuesday at several different McDonald’s locations in the area. TiViTz is a strategy based board game, which utilizes math skills in order to win. TiViTz is designed for students from 4th to 8th grade. Players move their TiViTz across the board to create math equations to produce the largest total score. Students must correctly answer the equations they create in order to win. There is also an online version of the game. Caspers Company McDonald’s locations have teamed up with TiViTz to put on TiViTz Tuesdays at their locations. As part of this program, McDonald’s managers host groups of students to play the game from 2:30 to 5:00pm each Tuesday from February through April. Parents and teachers register their kids to participate online and then mentor the kids on strategy and game play at their McDonald’s location. TiViTz hosts regional and championship tournaments for the game, and teams can qualify for those tournaments during TiViTz Tuesdays. To learn more about TiViTz Tuesdays, and the TiViTz game itself, please visit their website, or to learn more about Caspers Company McDonald’s, you can visit their website.
